Tarangire National Park boasts the highest concentration of elephants in North Tanzania, allowing you to witness these magnificent creatures throughout the year. The herds can reach astonishing numbers, often surpassing 300 individuals. The Tarangire River ensures a constant water source, attracting animals from the surrounding areas during the dry season, which spans from July to October. During this time, you will be treated to an unforgettable spectacle as you observe a wide array of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, and various species of antelopes and gazelles. If you’re fortunate, you might even spot a python! The dry season also entices bird enthusiasts, as over 550 different species, including the magnificent Masai Ostrich (the world’s largest bird), inhabit the area.
