September is still a Peak season. The migration is still in the north and the herds are in both parks, Serengeti and Masai Mara. This is also the time to witness herds of animals in their hundreds as they cross the Mara river on their migration journey. September is also the perfect month to see herds of elephants at Tarangire National Park. Adventure lovers and Mountain climbers can still enjoy their hike of majestic Kilimanjaro as this is also considered the best month to climb mount Kilimanjaro. Like in July and August, this month is also the best for a Zanzibar beach vacation.
The most important note that you should note is that the Northern Tanzania national parks become more crowded during peak season. Other destinations in the Southern and Western circuits are less crowded, if you are a tourist who wants to avoid the crowd these destinations might be your best option.
